It’s hard to pick my favorite part about this session, was it the quintessential Richmond feels? Was it the kindred spirit connection I felt with the bride? Was it this couples infectious giggles and ear to ear grins? Answer: D, all of the above!
I am so so excited to share this downtown Richmond summer engagement session! We strolled around Monument Avenue and explored new streets around The Fan District and had the sweetest little summer night exploring our favorite city! I grew up in a tiny little Suburb southwest of Baltimore called, Clarksville, MD. I have NEVER met someone from Clarksville while living in Richmond over the past 8 years. Until we received a random inquiry from Brigid + Nick and met up with them the following weekend at our favorite coffee shop (Lamplighter!) and while getting to know them better and chatting about their wedding day Brigid mentioned that they were BOTH from Clarksville!! We quickly realized we went to went to my same high school and grew up about 5 minutes from each other! Then, Brigid mentioned that she went to JMU (the happiest place on Earth!) and I about fainted! We were living parallel lives this whole time and I was just meeting her now, we had both gone from Clarksville to Harrisonburg to downtown Richmond and I was so happy I had met my life path pal! (Is that a thing?!) As we continued chatting I realized we had more and more in common! It was kismet! & this is why I constantly say that I love this job so so much because it brings people like Brigid and Nick into our lives!
The best thing about doing engagement sessions in Richmond is we always stumble upon new hidden cute spots! Locations I might have driven right past any other day but strolling around Strawberry Ave and Hanover with these two high school sweethearts opened up my eyes to new beauty! It’s sessions like this that invigorate my soul and bring out my creative side!
Brigid and Nick, if you’re reading this….let’s hang! P.S. If you can’t tell from my gushing blog post, I’m obsessed with ya’ll and can’t wait for your Richmond winery wedding next summer! Enjoy the photos!
xo,
Bri & Wes
This way may or may not be a personal favorite!
But like, how STINKIN FRIGGIN cute are these two and those infectious smiles? Like I said, they were all giggles the whole time and I ate it up!
This next photo CRACKS me up!!! So…some background on the goofy pic! One of my main cues I tell our couples when I’m coaching them through posing is “belly button to belly button”. I use this phrase when I want the couple to face each other and snuggle in nice and close but every time I gave these two that direction they would do this hilarious belly button bump and I had to share it because it shows their spunky and goofy personality. My favorite kind of people are those that don’t take themselves too seriously and I could hang out with these two again any day!
Sorry not sorry that I overuse this word but….cuties. Cuteness GALORE!
No engagement session is complete without your signature “secret” handshake…right?!
